Sustainable Sourcing Certification

Consumers increasingly expect to be able to trace the lifecycle of a product from beginning to end, assessing its green credentials along the way. Proving products come from a sustainable, responsibly managed supply chain – including sourcing, production and distribution – can be a key differentiator for businesses.

Companies today must build trust and transparency into every part of their supply chains. Beyond consumer expectations, an increase in legislation demands complex navigation of applicable guidelines and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance. With accountability extending to every link, the social and ethical performance of a company goes well beyond the boundaries of its own facilities.

WECERT offers certification services for a wide range of industries, from forestry and biomaterials, to metals and minerals, to seafood and agriculture. Companies can benefit from independent verification of their supply chains and business practices, proving end-to-end responsible sourcing for safe and traceable products.

Companies may expect the following benefits from our services:

  • Understand supply chain risks and stakeholder expectations;
  • Enable structured supplier qualification and monitoring programmes;
  • Ensure continual supplier management and improvement;
  • Improve competence within organization and among suppliers;
  • Increase traceability, transparency and trust.

RESPONSIBLE SOURCING FOR FOREST AND WOOD

Adopting responsible Forest and Timber sourcing practices throughout the chain of custody is key to preventing deforestation. Certification to standards like PEFC® and FSC™ helps companies prove the socially and environmentally responsible origins of their forest and timber products.
Forests are crucial to the maintaining our planet’s environmental equilibrium. Companies using wood products, such as paper, furniture and timber, must demonstrate a commitment to sustainable sourcing of products, services and suppliers.
Preserving forests is an environmental must: trees absorb CO2, reduce flooding, minimize soil erosion and provide crucial, biodiverse habitats for innumerable species. Preventing deforestation by adopting responsible timber sourcing practices is key to preserving land, wildlife and the water cycle.
By certifying your supply chain and production processes, you can send a powerful message about your commitment to sustainable forestry product sourcing. we provide independent third-party certification to several dedicated forest and timber standards. The process helps you achieve legal compliance, mitigate risk, and contribute to global efforts to protect forests.

PEFC™ : MANAGING RISK FOR SUSTAINABLE FORESTRY

The Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC™) determines that your forest management processes are ethical and sustainable. PEFC’s risk-management approach to forest product procurement allows you to identify and overcome risks in your supply chain.

FSC®: GOING THE EXTRA MILE IN SUSTAINABLE FORESTRY

The FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) certification: Forest Management is a voluntary standard that supports sustainable forestry management and timber product creation. WECERT offers Forest Management and Chain of Custody certification, which guarantees the environmentally and socially responsible origins of forest products.

WECERT Certification, as an independent Certification Body, will be contracted by companies to perform an audit according to the requirements of FSC-STD-40-004 (Chain of Custody Certification) and if needed the requirements of FSC-STD-40-005 (“Requirements for Sourcing FSC® Controlled Wood”).
