ENERGY Verification

Energy verification is an independent, evidence-based process conducted to confirm the accuracy and reliability of data and claims related to energy consumption and energy performance.

Energy verification is performed with reference to the requirements of ISO 50001 as the framework for the energy management system and by applying the principles and methodology of ISO 14064-3 to conduct independent verification, supporting organizations in presenting their energy claims with confidence and transparency.

What We Verify

Our energy verification typically covers:

  • Energy consumption data (electricity, fuel, steam, thermal energy, etc.)

  • Monitoring and measurement systems and data collection methods

  • Energy baselines and energy performance indicators (EnPIs)

  • Calculations related to energy efficiency, reduction, or savings claims

  • Operational controls affecting significant energy uses

  • Alignment with applicable standards, regulatory requirements, and defined verification criteria

Verification Approach

The energy verification process includes:

  • 1

Review of documented information, energy management plans, and records

  • 2

Assessment of monitoring and measuring equipment and data integrity

  • 3

Evaluation of significant energy uses and related operational controls

  • 4

On-site verification and interviews with responsible personnel

  • 5

Independent assessment of reported energy performance and improvement claims

The verification outcome is a transparent and structured conclusion supported by verifiable, objective evidence.

Benefits of Energy Verification

  • Increased confidence in energy data and reported performance
  • Support for sustainability, ESG, and energy performance reporting
  • Verification of energy efficiency and savings claims
  • Improved energy management and decision-making
  • Enhanced credibility with regulators, investors, and stakeholders
  • Identification of gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement

Verification Statement

Upon successful completion, an Energy Verification Statement can be issued, confirming that the reported energy data and performance claims are accurate, consistent, and compliant with the defined scope and verification criteria.
